Work In Progress

This is a WIP. It is drawn first on a piece of wood I found while walking our dog, repurposed old wood LOL.  I used chalks and Bic Mark its to color her in, mainly chalks. Thinking about coloring (painting) in the background with some DecoArt paints. I want to add another plaque to the bottom with a cute saying, just have not come up with something snappy yet. LOL I will make sure to post another pic when I get it completed. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day....it's the only one we get!

I just have to show you this rock my husband found while taking our dog for a walk by the Mississippi River. We live right on the River and the view is spectacular, but since he found this......hmmmm now I am thinking what other long lost souls are in there. Tell me, what do you think it looks like?

Mixing It Up Every Day Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the Mixing It Up Blog Hop. We are a group of mixed media artists that get together and share our art with each other on Facebook. Very nice and welcoming group, we are. LOL When you have time, come on over and check us out.

I would really like to thank http://mycottonwoodarts.com/ for being a part of this awesome blog hop. And, please go over and check out the other blogs taking part in this and please leave them some bloggy love also.

Like I said, I love Art, in all forms. I do a little bit of almost everything. I  make cards from stitching cards to embellished and painted. I love to paint, draw whatever  in journals. I love Mixed Media because you get to use EVERYTHING, literally.......LOL, well, maybe not the kitchen sink. I also love to do Quilling, now if you have never heard of this look at one of my other posts that shows a canvas done with quilling, but be careful, it is very addictive. I also dabble in Zentangling and Zendoodling. In other words, show me and I will at least try and do it. I like altering items also, but that is for another day.

Check out a few of the items I have worked on.

This is an altered Domino book I recently made. I love vintage so I  added vintage photos to it. These are so simple and cute when done.

Well thank you for looking at everything from Jewelry making to soap making and everything in between. Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to visit the other blogs listed below. And don't forget to leave some blog love for them also.

Cottonwood Arts Blog Hop

I would like to thank Cottonwood Arts for sponsoring this Blog Hop, stop by and give them a look see

I think the following is my all time favorite project I have ever done. It is called a Circle Journal. What you  do is make a journal and use as many pages as need. You put the instructions on the front page, as shown in the second picture. The first picture is the cover.

Then you send it to everyone you want to add to it, in this case, it was all my brothers and  sisters. I think this made its way all over the U.S. LOL Everyone was dedicated so  many pages and the theme for ours was "What are your fondest memories growing up" then everyone was to write (in their own handwriting) what they liked and to also add pictures.

The first one above is the one I made (first page of my pages) the second picture is of a sister we lost at the age of 33, so we all put a good memory of her also.

The last page is pockets with a tag inside and everyone was to write their names, address, and the date they received it. This took almost a year to get back to me. We made it for my mother on Mothers day. She LOVED it! Everyone came home for that day because her birthday is the same month (the same day on some years) and they were all so excited to read it and see what everyone else had written. They all agreed it was so much fun to do. Altho, some of them did NOT follow directions completely. LOL They were to decorate their own pages themselves. They just thought I would do it for them.......Now how, when they already had everything written and pictures attached?? Oh well, it turned out great. The following picture is the back cover.

If you have never done a Circle Journal, read up on how you do one, they are so much fun and your family, friends or whomever you choose, will love it. I am thinking about starting another one this year. Thats all for me today, Have a wonderful day, it's the only one you get!

And don't forget to follow and check out the other blogs on this blog hop, they are just awesome artists.

A little bit of Childhood still in all of us.....Fairies

This is a watercolor painting I did with a kit I purchased from Frosted Designs. It is a great kit and you get so much with it. Check it out. I first drew the pictures and then went over them with my Micron pens and then painted it all using my Koi Water Colors with a waterbrush.  This was so fun to make and lets agree, we all love fairies even as adults.

Quilled Canvas

This is a quilled canvas I just recently finished and sold....Yay me! LOL I love to quill, it is relaxing but takes alot of time to finish alarge project like this. Actually the buyer just noticed the hummingbird and immediately purchased it. Hmmmmm may have to make some more with just hummingbirds and a couple flowers. Thank you for looking and I hope  you all have a wonderful day.

Twinches dresses

These are some twinchies I made for a swap I hosted. These are going to be given to some special people that joined. Since all my craft supplies are at my mothers home, I was her caretaker and she just recently passed away, I have nothing at  my own home at the moment to create with so I had to use all Crayola products. I think they turned out pretty darn good. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Domino book

This was done using dominoes that I picked up at one of our local retail  shops. I just  added my own little pieces to make it into a vintage little book. Hope  you like it.
