Tea Pot Bird House

Signs of Spring are starting to show, I can see the buds growing on the trees. Yay, I am so over winter.

With that said, I decided to make a bird house and hang it on our funky apple/crab apple tree that grew together and now make up one tree. With a funky tree, you need a funky bird house...

Here are the supplies you will need:
Wood (any type, any size you would like)
Paint (I got mine at Home Depot in the reduced section. 7.5 oz for 50 cents....SCORE!) I picked up         two colors.
Varnish (I used a spray on varnish and sprayed outside)
Picture Hangers or whatever you would like to use to hang your bird house, I am mounting mine to         the tree.
Glue that will withstand being outside in the elements. Tip: Hot glue gun will NOT work. I used                Clear Premium Silicone Glue made by GE. It is waterproof, sun proof and freeze proof.
Tea Kettle - I picked mine up at the thrift store for $3.00
 Paint brushes
 Hammer
And anything you would like to add to the wood to decorate it. Or you could just leave it plain.

I had plywood cut to 12" x 12" at Home Depot. Here is the unpainted piece.
Here it is painted.
Next I added the hardware onto the back side. You want to do this before you mount your teapot.

This is the tea pot I picked up at the thrift store.
Here I made a stencil that says Family. I don't have one.....may have to remedy that. I used the other color of paint that I purchased for $50 cents :)

Then I added the tea pot and glued it down then added a couple bird houses and butterflies from a stencil I have.

And here is the finished product. Hope you like it. It is super easy to make and I can't wait for a couple to move in and start raising their family.

Thanks for stopping by...
